They were enthralled in conversation and as someone who enjoys people watching, I got a kick out of sitting next to them.
This will be one of the shortest bakery reviews of all times. No need for an elaborate post. If you live in Central Ohio, make time to check out Ethos Coffee & Café. You’ll thank me later! Located at 6576 Africa Road, the establishment is one of the few bakeries in Delaware County. Its hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The coffee shop boasts baked goods food from home-based bakers, a food pantry, and a fairly large co-working space. Its design includes bright colors, wood finishing, a handful of leather chairs and couches, and tables with benches for seats. It boasts an open floor plan where patrons can see from one end of the shop to the other.
Ethos Church
An initiative of Ethos Church Ohio, the shop is inviting, welcoming and mission-driven. In addition to offering products from local vendors they also offer snacks and treats from Freedom a La Carte Café & Bakery, which we’ve written about previously. Proceeds from Ethos Coffee & Cafe benefit local nonprofits.
When I visited on August 1, I enjoyed an Olympic-themed, sprinkle cupcake. It was simply divine. Moist and flavorful, the cupcake was enjoyable from the first bite to the last. It was also beautifully decorated, which, to me, matters as much as the taste itself. I also ordered freshly brewed Irish Breakfast Iced Tea which came in a cool, thin glass jar which mimicked a soda can.
Wonderful Atmosphere
Rather than getting my bounty and jetting off, I took a couple meetings at Ethos Café that Thursday afternoon. I was seated next to two, middle age women (one blonde and one brunette), who were delightfully entertaining. They were enthralled in conversation and as someone who enjoys people watching, I got a kick out of sitting next to them. I gleaned that they were Christian women. I had to get up from my seat a couple of times before and after my appointments arrived and departed, and each time, the brunette woman assuredly said, “We got you,” when I asked if they would watch my computer and belongings while I momentarily stepped away. Theirs was the kind of warmth that makes one cherish being around people of faith.
Overall, visiting this café and coffee shop was a wonderful, end of the week experience. I highly recommend Ethos Coffee & Café.
