It was rich without being over-powering, and flavorful without being overly sweet.
During a recent visit to Falmouth, Massachusetts, I drove over to Mashpee. Originally intending to visit one bakery and then head back in town, I heard of another bakery in Mashpee Commons with a cool name. With a business name such as Guilty Bakery, my curiosity was instanted piqued. I routinely feel guilty when consuming sweet treats, and I figured there was no better place to enjoy a guilty pleasure than a business with guilt in its name.
While this bakery offers decorated cookies, pastries, custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cake bars, macarons, and other sweet treats, I opted for cake in a jar. I enjoyed the Coffee Oreo Trifle, which was goodness sandwiched between goodness. The jar included chocolate cake, espresso whipped cream and crushed oreos. It was rich without being over-powering, and flavorful without being overly sweet. For those of us with gluten sensitivities, Guilty Bakery has a range of gluten-free options.
Beautiful Shop
In addition to the appetizing treats, I was drawn to the cute facility. The store front was light and airy; and cozy and bright, with tabletop seating for one or two small parties. Additionally, I loved the merch which included t-shirts, sweatshirts and mugs.
Fabulous Location
Established in 2012, Guilty Bakery has a location in Hanover at 962 Washington Street and a mini shop at Mashpee Commons. The latter is not far from a fabulous new find, called Sea Bags, which boasts beach bags, wine bags, storage bags, pouches and more made from used boat sails. It was truly unique and practical.
It should be obvious but Guilty Bakery is in a fabulous location. Patrons can stop in for dessert and then go for a stroll at the outdoor shopping and dining district. If you haven’t already visited, it’s time to pop-in. And if you’ve been to this business previously, a follow-up visit may be in order.
