A server at Turn restaurant recommended I try Pint Size Bakery & Coffee. After visiting Pint Size, I concur; this bakery is fabulous.
They pride themselves on being the “sweetest lil bakeshop in South City” and after trying their vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing, I’d have to agree. Pint Size Bakery & Coffee offers an unforgettable product and a memorable experience. The cupcake was so good I found myself looking at it between each bite. You know how you might stare at a meal and wonder if it is as good as your senses initially suggest; that was my experience at this gem of a bakery.
Unbelievably Moist
The cupcake was moist and every morsel melted in my mouth. It was a taste that isnt easily forgotten. Whatever their ingredients, this isn’t your run of the mill bakery or cupcake shop. And I’ve tried a lot of cupcakes and bakeries, and consider myself a connoisseur of sweet things.
The motto at Pint Size Bakery & Coffee is “Small Batch, From Scratch, and Fresh Daily.” Pint Size offers fresh muffins, cookies, cupcakes, scones & more. No more looking at products and wondering how long they’ve been on the shelf or in the display case. Consistently serving fresh products appears to be a company value.
About
Pint Size Bakery & Coffee opened in 2012. It moved in 2016 to the former Dr. Tom’s Vacuum Dr. near the corner of Watson & Arsenal. Its new location at 3133 Watson Road is less than a mile from its former home. While the bakery has been open since 2012, it was sold in July 2024. Here’s to wishing the new owners sweet success.
What’s Special About This Place?
Pint Size notes that it “bakes from scratch, in small batches daily, so it can give its customers the freshest baked goods around. While we have our staples, we also offer a rotating variety of house-made pastries & sweets that change with the seasons & our most fickle whims.”
I also love the name of this bakery; its charming and fitting. I’ve heard of pint size products and even pint size people (not the best description for a human), but I’ve never heard of a pint size bakery. The name is perfect though for this bakery which is nestled in South City Saint Louis’ Lindenwood Park neighborhood, and boasts just enough space to make it cozy and sweet.
On its website, Pint Size notes that they [want their baked goods to be as wholesome as apple pie sans preservatives or un-natural ingredients]. They note that their “meats and eggs are local from humanely raised animals.”
If you haven’t already visited, or if it’s been a while since your last visit, go ahead and plan your return. You can thank me later.
